    • PURPOSE: A rigid tapping retraction control apparatus and method are provided to reversely move a material and a machining tool at the initial rotation speed to the original position in the event of a fail or power-off during rigid tapping. CONSTITUTION: A rigid tapping retraction control apparatus(100) comprises a position detecting unit(110), a fail checking unit(130), a data processing unit(120), and a retraction control unit(140). The position detecting unit detects the axial positions of a spindle and a machining tool before or during rigid tapping. The fail checking part checks the occurrence of a fail during rigid tapping. The data processing unit recognizes abnormal axial positions of the spindle and the machining tool and the initial positions of the spindle and the machining tool and calculates the RPM(Revolution Per Minute) and axial transfer distance of the spindle for returning to the initial position. The retraction control unit reversely rotates the main spindle by the calculated RPM and axial transfer distance and reversely transfers the machining tool in the axial direction to return the spindle and the machining tool to the initial positions.
