    • PURPOSE: A clamping device for fixing a girder is provided to separably connect a structure to a girder or separably connect a girder to another girder. CONSTITUTION: A clamping device(1) for fixing a girder(80) comprises a tension element(20) on which a force is exerted, and a bearing member(30) with a bearing surface on which co-acts with the tension member and contacts with the girder or a structure(90). The clamping device includes a mechanism for connecting the tension member to the bearing member, to make the bearing surface of the bearing member parallel contact with a flange of the girder or the bearing surface of the structure. Under the influence of a force through an independent rotation and/or tipping of the bearing member relative to the tension member, the bearing member is installed with the bearing surface parallel to the girder or the structure.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus for coupling a steel beam is provided to fixedly maintain the steel beam with a strong coupling force and to achieve mass production with low costs by easily manufacturing the steel beam coupling apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for coupling a steel beam includes a coupling case(200) having a coupling part(210) opened toward an exterior in order to allow a steel beam(100) to be inserted into the coupling part(210). A pair of sockets(300) closely makes contact with an inner surface of the coupling part(210). A wedge(400) is inserted between the sockets(300) inserted into the coupling part(210) and the steel beam(100). The socket(300) includes an outside surface closely adhering to an inner side of the coupling part(210) and an internal surface closely adhering to the wedge(400).

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for coupling an iron material by using a wedge are provided to simplify the coupling procedure of the iron material by attaching the wedges provided with elastic pieces to both surfaces of the iron material to insert in a coupling case instead of punching a hole in the iron material, thereby preventing decrease of the mechanical strength, energy absorbing performance, and fatigue strength due to repetitive load of the connecting part of the iron material. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for coupling an iron material by using a wedge includes a pair of upper and lower wedges(23a,23b) respectively having a top surface of a low coefficient of friction and a bottom surface of a high coefficient of friction, elastic pieces(24) and a coupling case(25), so that the wedges are respectively coupled with the elastic pieces, attached to upper and lower surfaces of an iron joining element and then inserted into coupling holes of the coupling case, wherein tension-compression wedges are respectively coupled with the elastic pieces at both side surfaces, and shearing wedges are respectively coupled with the elastic pieces at a rear surface.

    • PURPOSE: A coupling device is provided to solve the problems of bolt connection such as a notch and stress concentration around the holes and reduce the term of works and the labor costs greatly compared with widely used bearing-type and friction-type bolt connections. CONSTITUTION: A coupling device for connecting members comprises a coupling case(20) having connecting slots, in which members(10) to be connected are placed, and wedges(30) inserted into the space between the coupling case and the members. The wedges have a higher coefficient of friction on the surface(bottom side) touching the members than on the surface(slope side) touching the coupling case. The wedge conforms to the space between the coupling case and the members and the cross sectional shape of the wedge is selected among triangle, trapezoid, and pentagon.
