    • PURPOSE: A method for polymerization and copolymerization of ethylene is provided to increase the polymerization activity of a catalyst and to improve the flowability of the resultant polymer. CONSTITUTION: The method for polymerization and copolymerization of ethylene is carried out in the presence of both (a) a solid complex titanium catalyst and (b) an organometallic compound of the group II or III in the periodic table. The solid complex titanium catalyst is prepared by the method comprising the steps of: (i) contacting a magnesium halide compound with an alcohol to form a magnesium solution; (ii) reacting the magnesium solution with an ester compound having at least one hydroxyl group and a silicon compound having an alkoxy group; (iii) reacting the reaction mixture of step (ii) with a mixture of a titanium compound and a haloalkane compound to obtain a solid titanium catalyst component; and (iv) treating the solid titanium catalyst component with a mixture of an aluminum compound with a magnesium compound, or a magnesium compound to obtain a solid complex titanium catalyst.
