    • An image forming apparatus capable of controlling a scanning unit and a method thereof are provided to improve speed following capability and location following capability by adjusting a voltage necessary for driving a motor in consideration of a movement amount, thereby improving the stability of motor control. A speed error calculating unit(255) calculates a speed error from a difference between an actual rotation speed and a target speed of a motor(220) for driving a scanning unit. A location error calculating unit(256) calculates a location error between a current location and a target location of the motor. A speed/location control unit(257) outputs a control pulse necessary the speed and location control of the motor by applying the calculated speed error and location error to the motor.

    • PURPOSE: A reader for color images is provided to perform a location compensation for R,G,B(Red-Green-Blue) colors according to a reading speed, for preventing a scanning moving with a variable speed and preventing a difference of the R,G,B colors caused by time delay. CONSTITUTION: A reader for color images having a photoelectric converter in which many picture sensors are arranged, including many light receiving cells arranged to main scan directions, comprises a speed observer(17) and a location compensator(13). The speed observer observes a reading speed of an object for being read. The location compensator compensates locations of picture data of R,G,B(Red-Green-Blue) colors, outputted from the photoelectric converter on the basis of the observed result. The location compensator stores the picture data of the R,G,B colors therein, and outputs picture data of other color corresponding to a location of the object for being read, where image data of one color is read, from the image data stored according to the observed result, when outputting the image data of the one color among the R,G,B colors by standardizing the image data of the one data.
