摘要： An image forming apparatus and a controlling method thereof are provided to avoid shading correction if an abnormal pixel is generated, thereby preventing deterioration of picture quality of a manuscript image. A reflecting member(20) reflects light to a scanning device at a position separated from a scan glass at a certain distance. A mobile device(30) moves the reflecting member. A controller decides whether data initially obtained from the light received from the scanning device is suitable for shading correction. If not, the controller moves the reflecting member by using the mobile device to re-obtain the data. The mobile device moves up or down the reflecting member according to supply of power in connection with the reflecting member.
