    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for generating a preamble sequence in OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access) communication systems are provided to enable a receiver to perform channel estimations for all sub-carriers by adding information on sub-carriers on transmitted signals. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus generating a preamble sequence in OFDMA communication systems uses first number of sub-carriers and second number of transmitting antennas. The apparatus includes second number of preamble sequence generators(610,620,630), second number of preamble mappers(613,623,633), and second number of antenna preamble sequence generators(640,650,660). The sequence generators generate sequences having a length equal to a number obtained by dividing the first number by the second number. The preamble mappers insert null data to sub-carriers corresponding to an interference removing component between a DC component and the sub-carriers and map the sub-carriers to which the null data is not inserted to each of the components of the sequence. The antenna preamble sequence generators selectively maps the preamble mappers at every predetermined symbol timings to generate corresponding preamble sequences.

    • PURPOSE: A method for generating codewords in a mobile system is provided to suppose a coding method suitable for the R-RICH(Reverse Rate Indicator CHannel) of a 1xEV-DV(Evolution-Data and Voice) reverse link channel. CONSTITUTION: In order to generate (23,12) Golay code input information bits through a Golay code generator, d=12-k zero bits are added to input information k bits. Golay encoding is carried out for the (23,12) information bits, and a shortened Golay code is created. As the output code is repeated as much as d+1 symbols, a codeword of (24,11) is finally output.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for generating the preamble sequences in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) communication system using a plurality of transmission antennas are provided to allow the preamble sequence generation having the minimum PAPR in the OFDM system, thereby improving the overall performance of the OFDM communication system. The sequence generators generate the sequence having the third length obtained by dividing the first predetermined number by the second predetermined number. The sequence preamble sequence mapping devices insert the null data corresponding to the sub-carrier waves representing the interference removal components between the DC component and the sub-carrier waves among the N number of sub-carrier waves. And, the sequence preamble sequence mapping devices perform the mapping corresponding each of the sequence components to each of the sub-carriers inserting the null data and generate the mapped data as the preamble sequences of the transmission antennas.
