    • An apparatus and a method for compensating for an absorption property of an underwater acoustic communication signal are provided to improve a bit error rate or a signal to noise ratio. A reverse response calculator(10) calculates a reverse response about an equivalent low pass frequency response of an absorption coefficient to compensate for distortion of signal due to an absorption property during a process that an acoustic signal is propagated under water. The reverse response calculator uses the calculated reverse response so that an absorption compensator(20) generates a transmitting signal which is compensated in a time domain or a frequency domain having a frequency characteristic of the absorption coefficient.

    • 본 고안은 험 노이즈를 제거한 원격음성통보장치에 관한 것으로서, 안내방송의 필요가 있을 경우, 원격지에서 유무선전화기, 컴퓨터 등을 통해 음성통보 시스템에 접속하여 읍, 면, 동사무소와 마을회관, 재난위험지구 등에 설치된 앰프 및 스피커를 통해 안내방송을 하는데 있어서, 원격지에서 방송의 내용을 수신하여 출력할 때에 전기적 절연을 통해 험 노이즈를 제거함으로써 깨끗한 음질로 방송할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 또한, 미리 저장되어 있는 안내방송멘트를 방송함으로써 원격지에서 방송을 수신하는 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 노이즈를 방지할 뿐만 아니라 방송의 내용을 숙지해야할 사람들의 휴대폰으로 문자메시지를 전송함으로써 안내방송의 전달력을 크게 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 고안에 따른 험 노이즈를 제거한 원격음성통보장치는 상기의 효과로 인하여 안내방송을 보다 명확하고 깨끗하게 전달을 할 수 있어, 특히 재해재난 상황에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

    • A noise cancellation apparatus, a method thereof, and a communication device using the same are provided to remove or reduce noises by carrying out an operation using noise-mixed signals received to two microphones located near to each other. A noise cancellation apparatus comprises the first microphone, the second microphone, and a filter. The first microphone receives a voice 'D1', a noise 'N1', and a mixed signal of D1 and N1. The second microphone receives a voice 'D2', a noise 'N2', and a mixed signal of D2 and N21. The filter obtains transfer functions 'TD' and 'TN' from the received voices D1 and D2 and the received noises N1 and N2 respectively, inputs the mixed signals P1 and P2 and the transfer functions TN and TD to a mathematic formula 'D1R = (P1TN-P2)/(TN-TD)', and calculates a regeneration voice 'D1R'.

    • A method and apparatus for performing signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) estimation in wireless communications, using a demodulator (505) output, such as a Rake output or a multi-user detection (MUD) receiver output. The demodulator (505) output is fed into a SIR estimator (400) to perform the SIR estimation based on estimated average signal power (610) and estimated average effective interference power (615). The estimated average signal power (615) is based on a minimum value function used for determining a minimum value between a median based average power value and a mean based average power value. The SIR estimator (400) reduces bias effects on SIR estimation, and is applicable to BPSK and QPSK modulation schemes, as well as higher order modulation schemes such as 8-PSK and 16-QAM. A correction term is used as a function of the mean and median values to further mitigate the bias effect.

    • PURPOSE: A restoring device of a carrier is provided to promote the optimum carrier restoration by calculating the maximum/minimum values from the output of a loop filter and detecting the fixed quantity of FM(Frequency Modulation) hum with the difference. CONSTITUTION: An FM hum detector(400) consists of an FM hum calculator(401) detecting the fixed quantity of FM hum from units by receiving the frequency offset of a carrier from a loop filter(300) and the FM hum from a digital broadcasting receiver, a comparator(402) comparing the output of the FM hum calculator with pre-saved reference FM hum, and a reliability counter(403) checking and outputting the reliability of the comparator to a lock detector(500). The fixed quantity of FM hum is detected by a minimum-maximum algorithm, and the bandwidth of the loop filter is set in proportion to the fixed quantity. Therefore, the restoration capability of FM hum is improved.
