    • PURPOSE: A surface-emitting laser element and a surface-emitting laser are provided to improve the accuracy of recording by arranging the surface of mesa structure on the surface of substrate. CONSTITUTION: In a device, a surface emitting laser diode device(100) generates a surface emitting laser of 780 nm. The surface emitting laser diode device comprises a substrate, a lower semiconductor DBR(Distributed Bragg Reflector), a lower spacer layer, an active layer, an upper spacer layer, a top semiconductor DBR(Distributed Bragg Reflector), and a contact layer. The lower semiconductor DBR(103) is laminated on +Z side of the substrate(101) through a buffer layer. The lower spacer layer(104) is laminated on the +Z side of the lower semiconductor Distributed Bragg Reflector. The active layer(105) is laminated on the +Z of the lower spacer layer and has three deuteron well structures.
