    • The present invention relates to a slim type optical disc drive. For example, the slim type optical disc drive may prevent damage with friction at a folded part by electrically connecting a main printed circuit board and a sub-printed circuit board using a simple cable even if the main printed circuit board installed at a lower part of a cabinet and the sub-printed circuit board installed in a tray are separately installed with a predetermined distance based on a vertical shaft or when an insertion process and a ejection process are repeatedly executed. Therefore, the slim type optical disc drive may improve productivity and may reduce manufacturing costs using a cable having a simple structure. The slim type optical disc drive may reduce the possibility of electric interference in a signal line by minimizing the overlapped part of wires.

    • PURPOSE: A recording control device of an odd and method thereof are provided to prevent a recording error by automatically controlling recording speed according to the temperature of an optical pickup if a tray is inserted. CONSTITUTION: A loading motor(11) ejects or inserts a tray. A temperature sensor(15) detects temperature of an optical pickup(14). A controller(19) establishes a first reference temperature which automatically ejects tray and a second reference temperature which automatically controls the recording speed. If a temperature of the pickup is a first standard temperature, the controller automatically ejects the tray. If a temperature of the pickup is a second standard temperature, the controller automatically controls the recording speed.

    • A disk loading mechanism comprises a frame and a roller mounted on a carrier. The carrier is pivotable with respect to the frame to bias the roller onto the disk. It would be advantageous to provide a disk loading mechanism in which the forces exerted on a disk to be inserted in or ejected from a drive unit by a roller providing a movement of the disk are equal for the inserting and ejecting operations. To better address one or more of these concerns it is suggested to provide a disk loading mechanism comprising reduction gears which do not transmit any other than rotational forces onto the roller. Any other forces are accommodated for by the carrier and compensate each other such that they do not have any influence on the biasing of the carrier towards the disk.
