    • A fixing system and a controlling method thereof are provided to maintain a prefixing temperature which is higher than a printing standby temperature and lower than fixing temperature by driving and preheating a fixing unit before a printing operation is performed after a printing command. A fixing unit(210) includes a fixing belt(215), which are prepared to be rotative about at least two rollers(211,213), and a pressurizing roller(219), which pressurizes a printing medium, to fix a transferred image to the printing medium. A heat source(221) is built in one of those tow rollers, and a driving source(225) drives one of the two rollers. A sensor unit(230) senses the surface temperature of the fixing belt, and a controller(110) controls the heat source and the driving source to make the fixing belt drive when the temperature of the fixing unit is increased.

    • A device and a method for fixing image are provided to maintain a fixing temperature of a nip uniformly as well as shortening an initial warm-up time. A fixing roller(120) is rotated on a pressing member. A heater(140) heats the surface of the fixing roller. A belt type film(130) forms a nip by passing through between the pressing member and the fixing roller, and is heated by the heater. The heater is positioned to be adjacent to the surface of the fixing roller. The heater directly heats the surface of the fixing roller through conduction or radiation. The film passes through while being in contact with an outer surface of the heater. A relative slip is generated between the film and the outer surface of the heater. The heater is in a stopped state. The heater is not a heating roller.
