    • An image pickup apparatus is provided to set a range of a numerical value of an exposure condition corresponding to a range of a sensitivity of an image pickup element visually and instantly through a display unit. An operation unit(10) has a range setting part, which is used for setting an upper limited value and a lower limited value of a range of sensitivity of an image pickup element in a first sensitivity setting state when the sensitivity is calculated based on the brightness value obtained through photometry. A controller(30) sets the upper limited value and the lower limited value correspondingly to the operation of the range setting part. A display unit displays the upper limited value and the lower limited value set by the controller.

    • An optimal exposure decision method and system of a structured light-based 3D camera are provided to offer the production method of a characteristic curve capable of predicting a change of the brightness of a pixel according to an exposure level. A pattern image and a non-pattern image are acquired one by one(S10). A characteristic curve is produced for the same pixel of each image(S20). The brightness intensity of a pixel according to an exposure level is predicted by using the characteristic curve. The difference of brightness or the SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) of brightness for a corresponding pixel is calculated(S30). The difference of brightness or SNR data for a pixel, of which the exposure is excessive and to which a pattern is not projected, is eliminated when a projecting unit projects the pattern(S50). An exposure level in which the calculated number of pixels is maximum is determined as an optimal exposure level(S60).
