    • PURPOSE: A polarization-maintaining fiber ribbon termination and a method for manufacturing the same, an optical fiber array using the same are provided to improve a work efficiency and a yield in manufacture. CONSTITUTION: A ribboned polarization-maintaining fiber(1) is disposed in almost the same plane, consists of a plurality of polarization-maintaining fibers(12)(UV coated polarization-maintaining fibers) extending longitudinally so as to be adjacent to each other substantially in parallel, and partially length(T) of the ribbon portion(2) is 2-300 mm. A polarization-maintaining fibers(12) be fixed by and coated with an adhesive(36), and at least the end faces of the polarization-maintaining fibers(12) which is used as a signal be aligned so as to have a predetermined plane of polarization. The length(T) of the ribbon portion(2) need not be longer than is necessary, and it is necessary only that a length contained in the fiber array be made into a ribbon form at the minimum.
