    • PURPOSE: The wave form time calibrating method for digital artefact minimizing in time space distribution measuring results is provided to improve the amount of data to be processed without adding a hardware to an oscilloscope. CONSTITUTION: In the method of time stepping at threshold crossing point, using a ditter threshold level. A threshold level which is used to measure the time mark of a threshold crossing is determinded(13). Digital data samples before and after the threshold crossing are fetched(10). A first data sample which is higher than the threshold crossing and a first data sample which is lower are interpolated. As a time stamp with reference to the interpolated threshold crossings, the time mark is accumulated. By using an offset value(15) for a threshold, the threshold level, for the threshold crossing, of an input signal is made variable, and the above steps are repeated. A series of time stamps with reference to the threshold crossing are fetched.

    • PURPOSE: A method of time stamping a waveform edge of an input signal is provided to add a time stamp to the edge of an input signal without being influenced by noise and the rising time and falling time of the edge. CONSTITUTION: A reference edge having a digital data value with a time mark is generated. At least a first time stamp within the reference edge is determined. The digital data sample of the input signal is read to form the waveform record of the input signal. The digital data sample of the edge of the waveform record with a time equalized digital data value of the reference edge generates an error signal showing the difference between the edge of the waveform record and the reference edge. A time offset value is generated from the error signal. The above steps are repeated to minimize the error signal and the time offset value in the minimum error signal is combined with the time position of the digital data sample closest to the edge of the waveform record to determine the edge time stamp of the waveform record.
