    • PURPOSE: A piston manufacturing method of a vehicle engine is provided to omit processes for manufacturing/mounting a preform and for pressurizing and to improve the entire durability by making a piston through the diffusion of a reactive material of Ti or Mg powder and deposition in molten liquid. CONSTITUTION: A metal porous body in near net shape is made of Ni, Cr, and other metal powder or fiber. 1-30wt% of a reactive material including Ti or Mg powder is diffused to the metal porous body. Then, the metal porous body having the reactive material is deposited into molten liquid of an Al or other alloy at 600-800deg.C. The metal porous body is deposited in the molten metal during a specific time to obtain a piston of the composite metal material. The piston has the reinforced structure including a combustion chamber and a first piston ring groove(30). The piston is made of the composite material of metal compounds having excellent intensity against high temperature and an Al alloy having excellent thermal conductivity so that the piston obtains the high quality of durability.

    • PURPOSE: A piston is provided to achieve an improved engine performance and stable quality of engine by reducing pressure of a second space of the piston so as to thereby prevent an engine oil and air-fuel mixture from being leaked toward a combustion chamber and an oil pan. CONSTITUTION: A piston(15) is constituted by a header(30) and a skirt(31). The header includes a plurality of grooves(32,33,34) for maintaining an air tight contact with a cylinder, and a top land(38), a second land(39) and a third land(40) protruded from the grooves. The header further includes compression rings and an oil ring inserted into the grooves, respectively, so as to form a first space and a second space of the piston. Thus-configured piston is fitted to a cylinder arranged within a cylinder block of an engine and reciprocates vertically. A combustion energy generated from the reciprocation of the piston is converted into a rotational motion and transmitted to a crank shaft.
