    • An electro chromic device controller is provided to reduce the cost and improve the productivity by using an automatic light sensor instead of the existing front sensor and thus reducing the number of light detecting sensors for sensing intensity of peripheral illumination. A first comparator(19) compares a peripheral light detection voltage detected from an automatic light sensor(16) corresponding to intensity of illumination of a peripheral environment for automatically turning on and off a rear and head light(17) of a vehicle, with a reference voltage. A rear sensor(12) generates a backlight light detection voltage corresponding to intensity of illumination of a backlight. A second comparator(20) compares the backlight light detection voltage detected from the rear sensor, with a reference voltage. A Nand gate(13) judges according to a comparison signal value of the first comparator and a comparison signal value of the second comparator for applying a logic signal. An output driving unit(14) applies a driving voltage for coloring and decoloring an ECD(Electro Chromic Device) material(15) to the ECD material by the logic signal of the Nand gate.

    • PURPOSE: An automatic control device and a method of a light for a vehicle are provided to automatically turn on/off a headlight and a tail-light in order according to the intensity of illumination as the vehicle starts or stops, and enters a tunnel. CONSTITUTION: An automatic control device of a light mounted at the predetermined position in a vehicle and connected with a power supply line and a connection line for a headlight(130) and a tail-light(140) is composed of a microprocessor(100) for controlling a flickering motion for the headlight and the tail-light; an illumination sensor(110) comprising headlight and tail-light illumination sensors(110a,110b) coupled to the headlight and the tail-light, respectively, and mounted downward to a column of a steering wheel in order to decide a turn-on time of the headlight and tail-light by the intensity of illumination; an illumination control switch(112) for selecting the illumination degree by an automatic or manual method and for controlling the turn-on time of the headlight and tail-light according to the illumination detected by the illumination sensor; a pulse sensing unit(150) for detecting a pulse generated from a speed sensor for the start and stop of the vehicle and applying a pulse signal to the microprocessor to turn on the headlight and tail-light according to an operation of the illumination control switch and the driving state of the vehicle; and a flicker preventive compensation unit(160) for holding to turn on the headlight for a predetermined time even for the illumination change or stop of the vehicle and then turning off the headlight after the predetermined time.
