    • PURPOSE: An argon gas refining method and an apparatus for the same are provided to efficiently improve the purity of argon gas by reducing the impurity content of the argon gas in a pre-treatment process. CONSTITUTION: An argon gas refining method includes the following: the amount of oxygen is verified; if the amount of the oxygen is less than the amount of oxygen needed for reacting with hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbon in argon gas, oxygen is further added; the hydrogen, the carbon monoxide, and the hydrocarbon in the argon gas are reacted with the oxygen under a catalyst to generate carbon dioxide and water; the argon gas is contacted with a metal to react the oxygen in the argon gas with the metal in order to generate a metal oxide; the carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen are absorbed with an absorbent by a pressure swing absorption method. An argon gas refining apparatus includes reactors(5a, 5b) and an absorption unit(7).
