    • PURPOSE: A traffic information collecting system using occupation based radar is provided to conveniently detect vehicles on a road using occupation based radar without laying a vehicle detecting sensor under the road.     • One embodiment of the present invention relates to traffic signal control system and traffic signal control method capable of preventing predicted start of the other vehicles or other pedestrians by blinking a signal or converting a signal into a signal corresponding to an emergency vehicle when an emergency vehicle is detected, and a traffic signal apparatus for independently supplying power to an external traffic apparatus such as a wireless communication device. For the purpose, a traffic signal system according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a wireless communication device for receiving an emergency signal including a location of an emergency vehicle from the emergency vehicle by communicating with the emergency vehicle; and a traffic signal apparatus for making a current signal blink and then converting into the next signal when a signal corresponding to a direction of an emergency vehicle when the emergency vehicle enters a detection region by analyzing a received emergency signal, and converting the current signal into the next signal when the signal corresponding to the direction of the emergency vehicle coincides with the next signal and then, converting the converted signal into the normal signal state when the emergency vehicle is out of the detection region.
