    • PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing ferrous sulfate monohydrate is provided to economically obtain expensive ferrous sulfate monohydrate from cheap ferrous sulfate heptahydrate and to prevent the discoloration of the ferrous sulfate monohydrate. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing ferrous sulfate monohydrate comprises the following steps: adding stannous chloride to the solution after dissolving ferrous sulfate heptahydrate in water; recrystallizing the solution and extracting a crystal by heating the solution at 70~80°C; dissolving the ferrous sulfate heptahydrate and the stannous chloride in the water at the same time; and purifying the ferrous sulfate monohydrate using methanol or ethanol.

    • A method of manufacturing zinc carbonate for animal feed by reacting waste containing zinc ash and an ammonium bicarbonate solution and then heating is provided to recover zinc carbonate from waste at low cost. Waste containing zinc oxide such as zinc ash is reacted with an ammonium bicarbonate solution to give a zinc ammonium carbonate complex which is heated at 90 to 95deg.C to give zinc carbonate. For an example, 10kg zinc ash with a zinc oxide content of 80% and 8kg ammonium carbonate are poured into 30L water, agitated at 50deg.C for 3hr, added with 30g zinc powder, agitated for 30min and filtered. The filtrate is added with 100g potassium permanganate to precipitate iron and filtered. The filtrate is heated at 90 to 95deg.C, sprayed with a zinc ammonium carbonate solution to eliminate ammonium of zinc ammonium carbonate. The generated ammonia and carbon dioxide are poured to recover 7.8kg zinc ammonium carbonate complex which is heated to give 11.5kg zinc carbonate with a purity of 99.5%.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus for preparing zinc sulfate from electric arc furnace dust(EAFD) is provided to increase zinc yield by allowing atomized concentrated sulfuric acid particles to react to dust powder uniformly. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preparing zinc sulfate from electric arc furnace dust(EAFD) comprises the following units. A reactor(10) includes a gas discharge pipe(11) at the top, and discharge unit(60) connected to a depot(61) at the bottom. A first input pipe(21) has a nozzle(22) for spraying concentrated sulfuric acid. A second input pipe(32) is installed on the top of the reactor and inputs EAFD. A vibration tray(40) is installed on the top of the reactor to accommodate EAFD, and includes a plurality of holes(41) at the bottom.
