    • PURPOSE: Provided is a shutter device for a camera in which the changeover of a diaphragm is surely executed while suppressing the wasteful consumption of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A shutter lever(50) is held in a charged state by a delay lever(60), and the delay lever(60) is held in the charged state by a release lever(61). When shutter operation is executed, the locking of the delay lever(60) is released because the release lever(61) is rotated in a counterclockwise direction, and the delay lever(60) is rotated in the counterclockwise direction. A photometric switch(57) is turned on because an escapement wheel(73) is rotated with the rotation of the delay lever(60), so that the changeover of the diaphragm is started. Then, the locking of the shutter lever(50) is released, and the shutter lever(50) is rotated in the counterclockwise direction, so that exposure is executed. The rotational speed of the delay lever(60) is adjusted by a governor mechanism(62) so that the changeover of the diaphragm is executed before the shutter lever(50) is rotated.
