    • A power train of a four wheel drive vehicle is provided shift a shaft by electromagnetic forces instead of using an actuator and a recoil spring as in a conventional power train by installing an electromagnet and a permanent magnet in a front differential, thereby reducing the number of assembly parts required, saving on the material cost as well as making the power train lighter. A power train of a four wheel drive vehicle comprises a front propeller shaft(150) for converting between a four wheel drive and a two wheel drive, a front differential(160) having a pinion gear(17) and a ring gear(15), an electromagnet(54) disposed inside the front differential generating a magnetic force when the electricity is applied, a permanent magnet(55) installed opposite the electromagnet and generating attractive and repulsive force with the electromagnet, a shaft(53) connected to the permanent magnet and shifts towards the axial direction by receiving the force from the permanent magnet, and first and second drive shafts(51,52) installed on two sides of the front differential respectively for driving the front wheels depending on the transmission or shut off of the power according to the engagement or disengagement of the shaft to a spline. When a driver operates a four wheel drive switch, the interaction of the magnetic forces between the electromagnet and the permanent magnet causes the shaft to shift towards the left, and when the driver operates a two wheel drive switch, the magnetic forces of the electromagnet and the permanent magnet causes the shaft to shift to the right.

A power transmission for a four-wheel drive vehicle comprises a transfer, a front propeller shaft(13), a front differential, an actuator(30), a return spring(51), a first moving type shaft(41), a second moving type shaft(42), and first and second drive shafts(11,43). The front differential has a pinion gear(17) and a ring gear(15). The return spring supplies elastic force to first and second moving type shafts(41,42). The first moving type shaft transfers the power through the first drive shaft(11) and a spline. The second moving shaft(42) transfers the power through the second drive shaft and the gear. The drive shafts are connected to left and right sides of the front differential to drive front wheels through the power transfer and cutoff due to the first and second moving type shafts.
