    • An optical communication apparatus is mounted to a first node among a plurality of nodes in a linear multicast network where the nodes are connected to each other linearly. The optical communication apparatus includes: a first extraction passage module which extracts at least a portion of a first operating signal, and passes a signal to retransmit in the first operating signal; a second extraction passage module which extracts at least a portion of an inputted first preliminary signal, and passes a signal to retransmit in the first preliminary signal; and a first optical switch which selects one of the first and second extraction passage modules, and outputs a signal extracted by the selected extraction passage module, wherein the first operating signal and the first preliminary signal are signals that are separated and transmitted from a second node adjacent to the first node.

The optical communication apparatus mounted to a first node in a linear network connected through an optical transmission path between a plurality of nodes comprises: a multiplexer which receives a plurality of optical signals having different wavelengths from each other, and outputs a first multi-wavelength signal wherein the plurality of optical signals are coupled; and a first optical coupler which separates the first multi-wavelength signal into multi-wavelength signals to be transmitted to two or more neighboring nodes different from each other.

    • PURPOSE: A wavelength multicasting method in the multiple-ring network, a multiple-ring network apparatus, and a node of the multiple-ring network are provided to implement the wavelength multicasting in the multiple-ring network node by separating a signal by using a simple separation/coupling device. CONSTITUTION: Each node (101) of each ring network system comprises a channel extracting/passing module (102), a multiplexer (103), an optical coupler (104), and a band cutoff filter (105). An optical amplifier (106) is equipped between the nodes. Among each node, the node, which is used in the signal exchange with other ring networks, is coupled by extracting and inserting an optical signal by using the optical separator and optical coupler. Each of a single ring network is able to extract the optical signal, which came from other ring network, and the signal, which is inserted from the single ring network. The extracted signal is outputted by separating into the band, channel, or the whole signal. The band cutoff filter prevents the interference with the optical channel, which is sent from own node, by separating own signal after transmitting to the adjacent node.

Each node forms TE(Traffic Engineering) link resources(8,9,10) connected to the adjacent node. Each node offers a service transmission path through the link resource.

    • An apparatus for switching an OTH(Optical Transport Hierarchy) signal frame in an ATCA platform is provided to switch a large switching capacity and provide a multicast and ADM(Add and Drop Multiplexer) function to provide the same function as that of an existing SDH switch. A processor unit(200) is connected with a fabric interface unit of an ATCA(Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture) platform and controls ODU data received through an input port. An ethernet controller controls ethernet communication to the fabric interface unit. A cross point switch unit(220) is connected with a line card, an input/output unit of the ATCA platform, to cross-switch a 2.5Gbps signal between node slots. A chip set driver signal generating and controlling unit(230) is implemented as a circuit configuration for a control signal required for each function part for implementing an OTH unit switch, an address decoding logic for a bus with the processor unit, and a circuit of a processor bus converter for a processor connection unit of a switch element. A back board connection unit(240) uses a double star structure based on a switch slot including the fabric interface unit, and connects a management channel for managing each line card slot to a base channel to interface the 2.5Gbps signal. A duplex function part(250) interchangeably mounts/dismounts two switch units in the ATCA platform, performs switching on the switch units due to a failure, and generates a control signal to allow each line unit to select one of two received signals.
