    • PURPOSE: A digital electric power substation adaptive protection operation system and a method thereof are provided to actively handle a dynamic change of a power system by performing protection operation for changes of the power system. CONSTITUTION: A data receiver(110) receives impedance data of a power system from a first intelligent electronic device set for monitoring a digital electric power substation. A power system change recognizer(120) determines changes of the power system by determining whether the data is changed or not. A correction value calculator(130) corrects the impedance data through a correction formula stored in a correction management database according to the changes. A setting group receiver(140) compares the correction value with a control value preset in one or more intelligent electronic devices. A setting group setting device(150) sets the control value as the correction value according to the comparison result.
