    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for decoding a low-density parity check code to perform a forward error correction process in a digital communication system are provided to prevent the deterioration of performance in a process for decoding the low-density parity check code by using only a simplified circuit. CONSTITUTION: A syndrome calculator(501,502) is used for calculating syndrome values by using parity values of encoded symbols. A comparison/selection unit(503) outputs a channel reliability value having the least log-likelihood ratio by using values according to transmission channel reliability of the encoded symbols and the syndrome values. A switch(504) is used for switching an output of the comparison/selection unit to one of three different output terminals on the basis of a switching control signal. A plurality of multiplication units(505-507) are connected to three output terminals of the switch. A control unit(510) outputs the switching control signal in order to connect selectively the output of the comparison/selection unit to the first, the second, and the third multipliers.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for generating a spread signal of a transmitter of a mobile communication system are provided to improve a peak-to-average power ratio by time-multiplexing a pilot signal and a data signal. CONSTITUTION: Rate adapters(811-817) adjust transfer rate of data outputted from data generators. Signal mapping parts(821-827) convert bit 0 of rate-adjusted data to a signal of bit +1, and bit 1 to a signal of -1. Multipliers(831-837) receive outputs from the signal mapping parts(821-827), multiply channel amplitude control signals(A0-A3) and an inputted conversion signal, and output it. A multiplexer(841) multiplexes outputs of multipliers(831,833) and outputs it. A multipath resistant pseudo orthogonal coder(843) receives an output of the multiplexer(841), spreads pilot channel and control channel signals by using a multipath resistant pseudo orthogonal code and outputs them. A multipath resistant pseudo orthogonal coder(845) spreads a voice data channel signal outputted from the multiplier(835) by using the multipath resistant pseudo orthogonal code and outputs it. A multipath resistant pseudo orthogonal coder(847) spreads a packet data channel signal outputted from the multiplier(837) by using the multipath resistant pseudo orthogonal code and outputs it.

    • PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for correcting unequal errors are provided to correct unequal errors by allocating resources of the least significant bit which does not request a high decoding rate to the most significant bit requesting the high decoding rate. CONSTITUTION: A bit allocation unit allocates a plurality of bits included in transmitted data to the most significant bit or the least significant bit(310). A first encoding unit and a second encoding unit respectively encode a first message including the most significant bit and a second message including the least significant bit by using an LDPC(Low-Density Parity Check) code(320). A power allocation unit allocates different transmission power to the encoded first message and second message(330). A transmission unit transmits the encoded first message and second message with allocated power(340).
