    • Since conventional electron-transporting materials are low in thermal stability, long life has not been sufficiently compatible with luminance and luminous efficiency in organic electroluminescent devices using the conventional electron-transporting materials. Disclosed is a 1,3,5-triazine derivative represented by the general formula (1) below which is obtained through a coupling reaction between a compound represented by the general formula (2) below and a compound represented by the general formula (3) below using a metal catalyst. The thus-obtained 1,3,5-triazine derivative is used as a component of an organic electroluminescent device.
