    • The invention relates to a workpiece machining method for a workpiece transfer system during which a workpiece (WS1, WS2, WS3), together with a workpiece carrier (WT) in a first station (1), is transferred into the transfer system, and is then machined in subsequent stations (2, 3, 4) having a number of manufacturing modules, after which the workpiece (WS1, WS2, WS3) in a last station (5) is transferred out of the system. The aim of the invention is to provide a more effective machining method. To this end; a) a first side (E) of the workpiece (WS1, WS2, WS3) is machined during a first passage through the transfer system; b) the workpiece (WS1, WS2, WS3), after its first passage through the stations (2, 3, 4) is automatically turned and placed upon the workpiece carrier (WT) again, and, c) another side (F) of the workpiece (WS1, WS2, WS3) is machined during a second passage through the transfer system.
