    • PURPOSE: A method for preparing a styrene-butadiene-based latex with dual structure is provided to control the size distribution of final latex and to improve the adhesion, the stiffness and the flowability of latex. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: mixing (a) 100 parts by weight of a monomer mixture consisting of 50-90 wt% of an aromatic vinyl compound monomer, 9-49 wt% of an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer and 1-7 wt% of an ethylene-based unsaturated carbonic acid, (b) 5-20 parts by weight of a sulfonated anionic surfactant based on the monomer mixture, and (c) a common additive for the emulsion polymerization, and reacting the mixture for 30-90 to prepare a seed latex(I) with the size of 25-50 mm; mixing 100 parts by weight of a monomer mixture consisting of 50-90 wt% of an aromatic vinyl compound monomer, 5-35 wt% of an ethylene-based unsaturated monocarbonic acid alkyl ester monomer and 1-7 wt% of an ethylene-based unsaturated carbonic acid, 5-20 parts by weight of a sulfosuccinated anionic surfactant, and a common additive for the emulsion polymerization, and reacting the mixture for 30-90 in another reactor to prepare a seed latex(II) with the size of 50-80 mm; mixing 1-5 parts by weight of the seed latex mixture consisting of 3-97 wt% of the seed latex(I) and 3-97 wt% of the seed latex(II), 0.5-5.0 parts by weight of an ethylene-based unsaturated carbonic acid monomer and a common additive for the emulsion polymerization in a separate reactor to react them, adding 100 parts by weight of a monomer mixture consisting of 30-60 wt% of an aromatic vinyl compound monomer, 28-60 wt% of an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer, 0-30 wt% of an ethylene-based unsaturated monocarbonic acid alkyl ester monomer, 0-10 wt% of a cyanovinyl compound and 1-7 wt% of an ethylene-based unsaturated carbonic acid, 0.1-3 parts by weight of a thermo-degraded catalyst and 20-40 parts by weight of distilled water to the product, to obtain the latex with the size of 110-210 nm and the final conversion rate of 98% or more.

    • PURPOSE: A method for preparing trimethylolpropane diallyl ether is prepared, which is improved in the yield and purity of the product. CONSTITUTION: Trimethylolpropane diallyl ether represented by the formula 1 is prepared by reacting trimethylolpropane, allyl halide and metal hydroxide in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst such as a tertiary ammonium salt. The tertiary ammonium salt is selected from the group consisting of tetrabutyl amonium chloride, tetrabutylammonium bromide, tetrabutylammonium iodide and tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate, and preferably is used at amount of 0.5-5 mol% based on the amount of trimethylolpropane. The allyl halide and the metal hydroxide are used at amount of 2.0-2.4 equivalent and 2-3 equivalent, respectively, based on the amount of trimethylolpropane. The reaction is preferably carried out in an aqueous solvent or a mixture of water and other organic solvents selected from xylene, toluene, benzene, cyclohexane, isooctane and heptane, and at a temperature of 70-120°C.
