CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for predicting malfunctioning of guide rollers guiding and rolling a wire rod material (12), the apparatus comprises a vibration sensor (30) which is installed at the plane of a guide body (13) positioned between each stands in which the guide rollers are carried so as to measure vibration; a sound sensor measuring sound with separated from the guide rollers in a certain distance; an amplifier (18) amplifying the vibration measured from the vibration sensor and the sound measured from the sound sensor; and a signal processor (20) outputting as digital signals by frequency converting the signals after receiving amplified signals from the amplifier. The method comprises inputting information of the wire rod material and operation information into the signal processor; measuring degrees of vibration and sound using a vibration sensor and a sound sensor, and outputting the degrees of vibration and sound as electrical signals; amplifying the electrical signals; converting the amplified signals into a frequency; measuring a magnitude of the frequency to changed from the frequency; and inputting the information on the wire rod material and the operation information into the signal processor.
