    • A DRM(Digital Rights Management) system through mobile terminal device inside or an external DRM server, and a method thereof are provided to protect multimedia contents through encoded transmission, and to ensure various use authority by an application rule. A DRM package(201) encodes original multimedia contents stored in a mobile terminal device, and a contents DB stores the encoded contents. A DRM authority publishing unit(202) receives an encoding key, and creates a use authority. A GUI(Graphic User Interface) searches the contents from the contents DB, and controls the DRM package and the DRM authority publishing unit. An internal DRM server(200) comprises a transmission module transmitting the encoded contents and the use authority to the outside of the mobile terminal device. A DRM agent(100) is installed in the inside of the mobile terminal device, and interacted with the DRM server.

    • A DRM(Digital Rights Management) system and method for multimedia contents added to a multimedia message are provided to encode multimedia contents, distribute the encoded multimedia contents and issue the authority to use the multimedia contents to protect the copyright of the multimedia contents. A DRM system for multimedia contents includes a DRM packager(200), a DRM server(300) and a DRM agent(100). The DRM packager encodes the original multimedia contents, stores the encoded multimedia contents in a contents database and transmits the encoded multimedia contents to a multimedia message center when the multimedia contents are added to a multimedia message. The DRM server registers DRM contents information and contents metadata, stores an encoding key for decoding the encoded contents and information on key distribution, issues the authority to use contents to a user and stores information on the authority. The DRM agent downloads the encoded contents and the authority to use the contents to a terminal and controls playing of the contents.

A multilevel merchandising system of digital contents on DRM system includes the following parts: an author terminal(100) which stores original contents in a content storage DB(101); a content provider terminal(200) including a content server(210) for receiving the original contents from the author terminal, packaging the original contents into encrypted contents in a packaging part(201) and registering the encrypted contents as a DRM content format(DCF) in a DCF processing part(202), and an authorization server(250) which has the authorization information DB(251) storing an right object to use the used encryption key and contents in the packaging process and a right issuer(252) which delivers the right object when selling occurs in a user terminal; a super-distribution(contents distributor)(300) which delivers the encrypted contents in the content server of the content provider to a user terminal; a user terminal(400, 500) which receives the encrypted contents from the contents distributor if the right object for the contents is granted; an intermediary terminal(600) including the right object acquisition protocol(ROAP)(601) which receives the right object for the user terminal through the designated protocol by interlocking with the right issuer(602) of the right server and delivers the using right to the user terminal; and an approval system(700) which performs charging process for delivery of the right object between the intermediary terminal and the user terminal.
