The cable shroud is made of a substantially thermoplastic or an elastomer polymer. The cable or the cable string is surrounded by the cable shroud. The support unit end connection includes a wedge housing(10) including a wedge pocket(11) and a wedge(12). The support unit passes between the wedge and the wedge pocket and turns round the wedge and is supported by the wedge pocket by the wedge. A lengthwise wedge recess is provided in one area of the wedge or in one area of the wedge pocket. A friction coefficient reducing unit is provided in an area of the support unit end connection and in one area of the wedge or in one area of the wedge pocket.

The support unit passes round the wedge. The cable or the cable string is bonded to, fused to, and mechanically engaged with the cable shroud in an area of the support unit end connection. An adhesive of a low viscosity and a low surface tension is used. A lengthwise wedge groove is formed on a wedge attachment surface and a wedge pocket attachment surface close to a loosened portion of the support unit. The wedge attachment surface and the wedge pocket attachment surface close to the loosened portion of the support unit have a surface roughness larger than that of the other surface.

A flat belt type supporting and driving unit(11) has two or more tensile carriers(1) of synthetic fibers. The tensile carriers are extended in parallel with a longitudinal axis of the supporting and driving unit. The tensile carriers are embedded in a covering member(12). Each of the tensile carriers includes a plurality of strands arranged in one or more strand layers. Each of the strands is formed of a plurality of twisted threads. The twisted threads are embedded in matrix materials, and formed of synthetic fibers. A shore hardness of the coating member corresponds to a shore hardness of the matrix materials, thereby improving the connection between the coating member and the matrix materials. Further, a shore hardness of the matrix materials is 72 to 95A, a shore hardness of the matrix materials of the strand is 80 to 98A.

摘要： A synthetic fiber cable and an elevator having the same are provided to induce a traction force to the entire section of the synthetic fiber cable uniformly, thereby increasing optimal lifetime of the synthetic fiber cable. A synthetic fiber cable consists of a plurality of strands(7,8,9,10) twisted in one or more strand layers(2,3,4). The strands of the strand layers are mutually distanced from one another in a circumferential direction(Ur). The strands of an outer strand layer freely move from a radial direction(r) to a direction of a center of the cable to apply a radial pressure to the strands of an inner strand layer, thereby increasing the radial pressure in an inward direction. Further, a diameter of the strand(2) of the strand layer(7) is 1.85 to 2.15mm, a diameter of the strand(8,9) of the strand layer(3) is 1.55 to 1.45mm, a diameter of the strand(10) of the strand layer(4) is 1.45 to 1.75mm, and a diameter of the strand(5) is 1.55 to 1.85mm.
