    • A fuel stabilization system which removes dissolved oxygen to allow increased fuel temperatures, and of which size varies to accept changing oxygen removal requirements is provided. A fuel stabilization system(10) comprises: a first fuel deoxygenator(18) for removing a first portion of oxygen from a fuel(28); and a second fuel deoxygenator(20) for removing a second portion of oxygen from the fuel, wherein the first fuel deoxygenator and the second deoxygenator remove oxygen from a common fuel flow. The second fuel deoxygenator comprises plural fuel deoxygenators (20,22,24,26). The first fuel deoxygenator and the second deoxygenator are arranged in series. The first deoxygenator and the second deoxygenator are arranged in parallel. The first portion of oxygen removed from the fuel by the first deoxygenator is greater than the second portion of oxygen removed by the second fuel deoxygenator. The first deoxygenator has a greater capacity for removing dissolved oxygen from the fuel than the second fuel deoxygenator. The fuel stabilization system comprises a heat transfer device(32) for transferring heat into the fuel, wherein the heat transfer device is arranged downstream of at least one of the first deoxygenator and the second deoxygenator.

    • A permeable membrane system capable of removing dissolved oxygen below level required to suppress formation of coke, and a permeable membrane system constructed such that it uses space efficiently, reduces weight, is easily scalable, is performed predictably, and can be manufactured economically are provided. A fuel deoxygenator assembly(10) comprises: a housing(12) having an inlet(18) and an outlet(20); an exhaust tube(14) which is disposed within the housing and has at least one open end(32) extending from the housing; a first passage(28) for supplying fuel(16) through the housing between the inlet and the outlet; a permeable membrane(22) spirally wrapped around the exhaust tube within the housing and disposed adjacently to fuel flowing through the first passage; and a second passage(30) which is in communication with the at least one open end of the exhaust tube(14) and creates an oxygen partial pressure difference to draw dissolved oxygen(38) from the fuel into the second passage through the permeable membrane and to the outside of the at least one open end of the exhaust tube.
