    • PURPOSE: A magnetic fan clutch apparatus is provided to cut down manufacturing expenses by integrally forming a magnet coupling with an electromagnetic clutch with simple structure, and to prevent errors by restricting inflow of dust between a permanent magnet and a conductor. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic fan clutch device is composed of an electromagnetic clutch(12) mounted in a driving shaft(11), and a magnet coupling(13) operatively connected to the electromagnetic clutch. The magnetic coupling includes a permanent magnet rotating body fixing a fan, and a disk having a conductor or a hysteresis member opposed to the permanent magnet rotating body. The permanent magnet rotating body and the disk are rotated together or relatively owing to attraction between the permanent magnet and the conductor. The magnetic coupling is turned on and off by the electromagnetic clutch, and a seal structure is formed between the disk and the permanent magnet rotating body.

When assuming a width of the channel shaped waveform is H and a wavelength of the waveform corrugation is L, a value of H/L is controlled in the range of 0.17-0.20.
