    • PURPOSE: An optical touch inputting apparatus and a method for operating the apparatus are provided to prevent optical interference generated in sensor parts by successively operating the light source and the sensor part. CONSTITUTION: Infrared emitting elements(110a to 110h) are arranged at the adjacent first side and second side of a display panel. A lens part(223) is arranged at the third side and fourth side of the display panel. Sensor parts include pixels and match the pixels to the first side and the second side in order to receive light reflected from the lens part by pixels. A touch controller applies a light ignition controlling signal which successively ignites the infrared emitting elements. The light ignition controlling signal alternately operates odd-numbered elements and even-numbered elements.

    • PURPOSE: A driving method of a touch panel is provided to reduce power consumption of a touch panel by detecting whether or not the voltage of a first scan electrode is changed together with that of a second scan electrode only for plural candidate coordinates, not for the entire coordinates. CONSTITUTION: One or more first scan electrode having a different voltage level other than a first reference level is detected among a plurality of first electrodes(S100). One or more second scan electrode having a different voltage level other than a second reference level is detected among a plurality of second electrodes crossing with the plurality of first electrodes vertically(S110). After combining the disposed positions of said one or more first scan electrode and said one or more second electrode, a plurality of candidate coordinates are derived(S120). One or more touch coordinate corresponding to the first scan electrode and the second scan electrode in which voltage levels are changed together is derived(S130).

A light emitting controlling part lowers the output of non-touch type light than the output of touch type light.
