    • The quinolone carboxylic acid deriv. of formula (I), its pharmaceutically acceptable hydrate, acid addition salt, and alkali (earth) metal salt, silver salt and guanidinium salt of its carboxylic acid are prepd. by condensation reacting a carboxylic acid deriv. of formula (II) with a thiophene bicyclic amine deriv or its hydrochloric acid salt in the presence of a solvent i.e. alcohol, water, acetonitrile, dimethyl formamide or pyridine at the range of room temp. to 200 deg. C for 1-24 hr. In the formulas, R1 is cyclopropyl or 2,4-difluorophenyl; X is H or F; Y is H or amino; L is halogen. The deriv. (I) has a good antibacterial action and a broad antibacterial spectrum.

    • The pyridone carboxylate derivative of general formula(I) is prepared by reacting a compound of general formula(II) with that of general formula(III). The produced pyridone carboxylate derivative is excellent in protecting bacteria such as gram-positive bacteria and methicillin resistant bacteria. In the above formula, R1 means phenyl group including low-level alkyl group, low-level alkyl group replaced by halogen, low-level alkenyl group or like. R2 is hydrogen, amino group or low-level alkyl group, A is nitrogen atom or C-X where X is hydrogen, halogen atom and alkoxy group. R3, R4 is hydrogen atom or low-level alkyl group but one of two is hydrogen. R5, R6 is hydroxy, alkoxy, amino or like where one of two is hydrogen and R7 means hydrogen or low-level alkyl group.
