    • An objective lens device, an optical pickup device, an optical disc driving apparatus and a driving method of the objective lens are provided to make an objective lens device thinner by allowing the device to accept three formats of recording media. Therefore, by controlling optical coupling efficiency in the element 3 for varying optical coupling efficiency while switching it in recording and reproducing, even without extremely enlarging the output power ratio of recording and reproducing on the side of the light source 3, the level of light with which an optical recording medium is irradiated can be remarkably changed between recording and reproducing.
