    • PURPOSE: An artificial cochlea device for the active feedback controlling and a method thereof are provided to copy the mechanism of an outer hair cell of the cochlea through an actuator which is driven by the sound pressure, thereby classifying and recognizing various sizes of sound by the pressure deviation. CONSTITUTION: A sensor unit senses the vibration by sound, and generates an electric signal corresponding to the size of the vibration. The sensor unit comprises a plurality of operator (230) which moves a frequency dividing unit in response to the electric signal. The operator operates the sensitivity by the size of sound or the selectivity of sound which is sensed by each frequency band. A plurality of operator is arranged separately to a plurality of base unit (216). The plurality of operator is consecutively connected along a first substrate (210) or a second substrate (212). The operator moves up and down by the electric signal which is generated in the base unit and a nanopillar (214).

    • PURPOSE: A device for cochlear implants having a sensor and electrodes is provided to receive a vibration of sound from the basilar membrane of a cochlea, thereby operating without a separate microphone outside of a body. CONSTITUTION: A device for cochlear implants having a sensor and electrodes has a tube (10) shape and includes an embedded sensor unit (20) and an embedded electrode unit (30). The tube is inserted into scala tympani and one side of the tube touches the basilar membrane of a cochlea. The sensor unit which is embedded in the tube converts a vibration of sound which is detected from the cochlea into an electrical signal and transmits the signal to an amplifier or a speech processor. A plurality of electrodes which is embedded in the tube receives a signal processed by the amplifier or the speech processor and stimulates an auditory nerve.

    • PURPOSE: An artificial basilar membrane device is provided to operate without a separate microphone outside of a body by installing an artificial basilar membrane between a tympanic membrane and a promontary. CONSTITUTION: An artificial basilar membrane device includes an accepting unit (10) and an artificial basilar membrane (20) is included in the accepting unit. The accepting unit is placed in a tympanic cavity which is located between a tympanic membrane (2) and a promontary and receives a vibration due to sound from the tympanic membrane. The accepting unit delivers the received vibration to the artificial membrane and transmits an electrical signal converted by the artificial basilar membrane to the outside of the accepting unit. A membrane (16) is placed on one side of the accepting unit and vibrates by sound. The artificial basilar membrane which is embedded in the accepting body detects a vibration from the membrane and converts the detected vibration into an electrical signal. The artificial basilar membrane classifies the converted signal into each frequency band and transmits the classified signal to the outside of the accepting unit.
