    • PURPOSE: A video signal automatic gain controller is provided to detect a signal level of an IF input stage and make the signal level become a predetermined level such that initial automatic gain control is not necessary. CONSTITUTION: A video signal automatic gain controller includes an RF amplifier(32b), an IF amplifier(35), a demodulator(36), an RF automatic gain controller(38), an IF automatic gain controller(37), and an RF automatic gain control correction unit(39). The RF amplifier receives signals of a frequency band of a predetermined channel and amplifies an RF signal of the received signals to convert the RF signal to an IF signal. The IF amplifier amplifies the IF signal. The demodulator demodulates the amplified IF signal to output a reproduced video signal. The RF automatic gain controller and IF automatic gain controller control the gain of the RF amplifier and the gain of the IF amplifier according to the reproduced video signal, respectively. The RF automatic gain control correction unit detects the IF signal inputted to the IF amplifier to check whether or not the detected IF signal satisfies a reference level. When the IF signal is lower than the reference level, the RF automatic gain control correction unit increases the voltage of the RF automatic gain controller. When the detected IF signal is higher than the reference level, the correction unit decreases the voltage of the RF automatic gain controller.

    • PURPOSE: A digital television with automatic fine tuning capability is provided to store the voltage variation curve according to intermediate frequency variation in order to use the curve for compensating the intermediate frequency variation. CONSTITUTION: A digital television with automatic fine tuning capability includes an AFT(auto fine tuning) detector(16), a micom(17), and a tuner(11). The AFT detector(16) stores the voltage variation curve according to intermediate frequency variation priorly to generate a voltage corresponding to an intermediate frequency(IF) as an AFT voltage. The micom(17) controls oscillation frequency according to the AFT voltage generated in the AFT detector. The tuner(11) generates a received RF(radio frequency) signal as an IF signal according to an oscillation frequency signal adjusted by the micom.
