    • A method and an apparatus for ensuring QoS(Quality of Service) are provided to guarantee the QoS of data communication between a receiving party and a transmitting party by making the receiving party transmit information about a change in link characteristics to a transmitting party and making the transmitting party transmit data according to the changed link characteristics. As a receiving party, which receives data from a transmitting party at a data rate of 100 Mbps in a network having a data rate of 100 Mbps, moves to another network having a data rate of 156 Kbps, the receiving party detects the link characteristics of the changed network(601,602). The receiving party makes link information according to the detected link characteristics and transmits it to the transmitting party(603). In response to the link information, the transmitting party transmits response information to the receiving party(604). After receiving the response information, the receiving party executes handover. Afterwards, the transmitting party and the receiving party execute data communication at a data rate of 156 Kbps according to the changed link characteristics(605,606).

    • A method and an apparatus for fast handover are provided to predict a subnet which has the possibility of connection with a mobile node, and enable a home agent instead of the mobile node to perform a duplicate address detection process on a COA(Care Of Address) of the mobile node which will be used in the subnet, thereby removing handover delay caused by an existing duplicate address detection process. A handover method comprises the followings steps of: predicting a subnet which has the possibility of being connected with a mobile node(6)(501); requesting to detect whether an address of the mobile node, which will be used in the subnet, is already used(502); and selectively requesting biding update of the mobile node based on a response to the request. In the above second step, it is requested to bind a home address of the mobile node with the address if the response shows that the address is not used in a state that the mobile node is connected to the subnet.

    • A mobile terminal and a handoff method of the mobile terminal are provided to carry out a fast handoff process by using location information. A location information service module(120) provides location information of a mobile terminal(100). The first communication module(110-1) performs communication in the first communication network, and receives the location information of a management device from a management device of the first communication network. A control module(140) conducts handoff to the second communication network if a distance between the management device and the terminal(100), calculated by using the provided location information and the received location information, is larger than a threshold distance. The second communication module(110-2) conducts communication in the second communication network.

    • A method for transmitting and receiving multimedia files using a WUSB(Wireless Universal Serial Bus) is provided to enable a user to download a multimedia file using a WUSB, without the necessity of executing a complicated cable connection, to actively select and regenerate a multimedia file, and to automatically regenerate a multimedia file. In case a terminal accesses a multimedia file server for the first time, the multimedia file server executes information registration work for the terminal(S220). Then the multimedia file server creates a list of multimedia files, which can be regenerated in the terminal, and transmits the created list to the terminal through a WUSB host(S240,S250). The terminal selects one among the received list and transmits a multimedia file transmission request message(S260,S270). The multimedia file transmission request message is delivered to the multimedia file server through the WUSB host(S280). The multimedia file server transmits the requested multimedia file to the terminal through the WUSB host(S290,S300). The terminal regenerated the received multimedia file(S310).
