    • A method for manufacturing color filter consists of (A) forming a transparent flattened layer on the depressed part of base material so that the surface height of depressed part is equal to that of prominent part, (B) forming dyed layers by selectively dyeing surfaces of color filter layers with t least more than two different colors, (C) forming intermediate layers on the dyed layers, and (D) repeating the process (C) more than two times. The produced color filter has at least more than two different spectroscopic characteristics corresponding to a plurality of pixels which are arranged in the matrix form on the base material with an uneven structure.

    • The colour filter has at least two mutually different filtering characteristics respectively corresponding to the pixels placed in a matrix on the background substrate (31). The colour filter has a planarising layer (37) which transmits light along the entire surface of the background substrate. At least one colour filter pattern (38), and preferably more, is formed in the upper region of the planarising layer corresponding to each pixel. If two or more colour filter pattern (38,43,49) are formed, then each is formed at the same height on the planarising layer. Colouring layers (38,45,51) are applied to the surface of each respective colour filter pattern. Each respective colouring layer is coloured with a different colour. A protective layer (53) which transmits light along the entire surface of the planarising layer and the colouring layers is then formed. The colour filter improves on optical transmittance and diminishes dispersion phenomena.
