    • Provided are a method and an apparatus for controlling a probe by automatically activating or deactivating the probe in accordance with a change in a mounting status that is sensed by detecting a mounting signal which is transmitted via a cable after the mounting signal is applied so as to sense the mounting status of the probe, and an ultrasonic diagnosis system. The apparatus for controlling a probe includes a signal detection unit that receives identification information of the probe via a cable of the probe and detects a mounting signal having a pre-set pattern which is applied to the probe in the vicinity of a holder on which the probe is mounted and is transmitted via the cable; a sensing unit that senses a change in a mounting status of the probe recognized with the identification information based on the detected mounting signal; and a control unit that controls the recognized probe to be activated or deactivated in accordance with a change in the mounting status.

    • A method for providing shortcut buttons of measurement menus on a touch screen in an ultrasound diagnostic system are provided to enable a user to select the desired measurement menu easily by enabling the user to select and register the frequent measurement menu to a measurement registration window displayed on the touch screen. A plurality of measurement menus provided from an ultrasonic diagnostic system are displayed to a screen of a display unit such as a touch screen. A user selects the desired measurement menu among the displayed measurement menus(S310). A measurement menu registration window is opened on the touch screen. The user selects a shortcut button for registering the selected measurement menu among a plurality of shortcut buttons included in the measurement menu registration window(S320). The selected measurement menu is registered to the selected shortcut button(S330), and a registration result is stored in the ultrasonic diagnostic system(S340).
