    • PURPOSE: To provide a submicron cemented carbide manufacturing method for solving or relieving conventional problems that WC particles are inevitably grown to a certain extent during carbonization due to non-uniformed distribution of Cr, and a method for preparing WC-powder having an extremely narrow particle size distribution. CONSTITUTION: In a method for preparing WC(tungsten carbide) powder by dissolving one or more organic or inorganic metal salts or compounds of one or more elements belonging to groups ¥³, ¥´ and ¥µ in the periodic table, preferably Cr, V, Mo and W and most preferably Cr and V into at least one of polar solvents, the method for preparing WC powder comprises the steps of: adding WO3 powder to the solution; heat treating powder remained after evaporating the solvent in a reductive atmosphere; and carbonizing the mixture after mixing the obtained powder with carbon, wherein the metal salt is chromium(¥²) nitrate 9-hydrate(Cr(NO3)3x9H2O) or ammonium vanadate(NH4VO3).
