    • PURPOSE: A device and a method for measuring the temperature of a casting slab are provided to minimize interference in cooling water and residual water with respect to a pyrometer unit, thereby accurately measuring temperature in a traversal direction of a casting slab. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring the temperature of a casting slab comprises a pyrometer unit, an opening/closing valve(205), and a controller(206). The pyrometer unit measures the temperature of a casting slab while being transferred on a frame. The opening/closing valve is mounted to a spray nozzle spraying cooling water to the casting slab. The controller transfers he pyrometer during a time period in which a cooling water discharge through the spray nozzle is prevented by applying off-signals to the opening/closing valve, thereby controlling to measure the temperature of the casting slab.

The surface heating part heats the surface of cast pieces to melt. The cast pieces are placed on the first stage to heat one side of the surface heating part. The cast piece tuning part turns the cast pieces heated by the surface heating part. The cast pieces turned by the cast piece turning part are placed on the second stage to heat the other side of the cast pieces.
