    • The invention relates to a method for optically measuring distance. According to said method: a transmitter of a transmitter branch (14) that is integrated into a measuring device (10) emits a modulated measurement beam (16,36) towards a target object (20), the measurement beam (17, 44) reflected or scattered by the target object (20) is detected by a measurement receiver (54) integrated into the measuring device (10) and is converted into a signal in low-frequency range by means of a frequency mixing process. According to the invention, a measuring diode (62), whose cathode and anode voltage are modulated at high-frequency to generate a mixing signal, is used to detect and convert the frequency of the returned measuring signal (17, 44). The invention also relates to a device (10) for carrying out the inventive method.
