    • PURPOSE: A fresh preservation method of mushrooms during the period of storage and marketing after harvest is provided. The method includes the interior packaging materials of the mushrooms with paper or pulp and the outside film packaging. The method improves hardness of the mushroom up to 27% compared with the conventional packaging when the mushrooms are stored for 6 days at 18deg.C and 400% when they are kept at 4deg.C, extending the storage period to 68 days. CONSTITUTION: The preservation method includes: 5-20wt.% (base on the total wt. of the mushrooms) of interior packaging material comprising pelletized papers or pulp which is wet disintegrated with 10-20wt.% (based on the dry wt. of the packaging) grapefruit seed extract, loess and active charcoal; and the exterior film packaging, with one of the film material being selected from polypropylene, polyethylene, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene.
