    • An LCD panel and an LCD are provided to significantly reduce the amount of color shift in an oblique direction, by disposing an optical element having an optical isotropy between an LCD cell and a polarizer disposed at one side of the LCD cell. An LCD cell(10) includes a liquid crystal layer. A first polarizer(21) is disposed at one side of the LCD cell. A first optical element(30) is disposed between the LCD cell and the first polarizer. A second polarizer(22) is disposed at the other side of the LCD cell. The first optical element has a substantially optical isotropy. The initial aligning direction of the LCD cell is substantially parallel to the direction of absorption axis of the first polarizer. The absorption axis of the first polarizer is substantially perpendicular to the absorption axis of the second polarizer.

    • This invention provides a liquid crystal panel comprising at least a liquid crystal cell, a first polarizing plate disposed on one side of the liquid crystal cell, a second polarizing plate disposed on the other side of the liquid crystal cell, a phase difference film disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the first polarizing plate, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the phase difference film. The direction of the absorption axis of the first polarizing plate is substantially perpendicular to the direction of the absorption axis of the second polarizing plate. The phase difference film is a norbornene resin-containing stretched film. The index ellipsoid has a relationship represented by nx >= nz > ny. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer comprises a pressure-sensitive adhesive produced by crosslinking a composition prepared by mixing at least an (meth)acrylate (co)polymer and a crosslinking agent composed mainly of a peroxide together. The liquid crystal panel causes no significant light leakage and color change as viewed from an oblique direction of the screen of the panel and is good in light peelability of a laminated film when the liquid crystal cell is reutilized.
