    • An optical compensation layer-attached polarizing plate, a method for manufacturing the same, a liquid crystal panel, an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display), and an image display comprising the same are provided to improve luminance and minimize leakage light in the case of black display by executing wide viewing angle compensation to provide an excellent diagonal contrast and acquiring circular polarization over a wide band. An optical compensation layer-attached polarizing plate(10) comprises a polarizer(11), the first optical compensation layer(12) and the second compensation layer(13). The polarizer(11), the first optical compensation layer(12), and the second compensation layer(13) are accumulatively laid in sequence. The first optical compensation layer(12) is formed of a liquid crystal compound. The first optical compensation layer(12), of which the in-plane phase difference "Re1" is within the range of 100 to 170 nm, has a relation of nx>ny=nz. The second compensation layer(13), of which the thickness-wise phase difference "Rth2" is within the range of 30 to 400 nm, has a relation of nx=ny>nz. The angle formed between the absorption axis of the polarizer(11) and the lag axis of the first optical compensation layer(12) is within the range of 25 to 65 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise for the absorption axis of the polarizer(11).
