    • A method for controlling leakage of a molten metal material in an injection device of a metal molding apparatus is provided to limit the flow of molten metal material into slide gaps by setting temperature of a rear part of a cylinder body to a solid temperature, using a heating unit. An injection driving device(2) is separated from an injection cylinder(1). A material melting supply device(3) is provided on the injection cylinder. The injection cylinder and the injection driving device are connected by rods(4). Front and rear support parts(6,7) are inserted into a pair of horizontal support shafts(10) which are provided on a seat plate(9) of a machine base(8). The injection cylinder includes a nozzle member integrated with a cylinder body(11) and a nozzle(12), a discharging opening(14), a cylinder liner, a cylinder bush, an injection plunger, a supply opening, heating units(19), and a heating unit(20) attached at the outer perimeter of the cylinder body. An injection rod(21) is inserted in a cylinder bush. A front end of the injection rod is connected with a plunger rod rear part, and a rear end of the injection rod is connected with a piston rod(22) of the injection driving device. The material melting supply device includes a furnace body(31) and a reserve cylinder(32). The furnace body and the reserve cylinder are heated by heating units(33,34).

An injection cylinder of an injection apparatus for molding metal material comprises: a cylinder body(11) which has a first fitting part(14) and a second fitting part(16) and in which a feed opening is formed at the upper region; a cylindrical cylinder liner(13) in which a flange is formed at the circumference of the front-end, and a supply hole is formed at the upper region; a cylindrical nozzle member(15) having a nozzle on the end and having a flange(15b) at the circumference of the rear end; and a coupling ring(19) arranged at the cylinder part circumference of the nozzle member. The cylinder liner is made of the cylindrical member having a flange(13a) formed at the circumference of the front-end.

    • A new melting and holding method for the material rods in a material melting and holding apparatus of a metal molding machine which uses a melting cylinder for melting of material rods and submersion melting by a molten material in a furnace body is provided to increase the melting efficiency and secure a sufficient reserve quantity as compared with the conventional method. A method for melting a material rod(M) in a material melting and holding apparatus of a metal molding machine is characterized in that the material melting and holding apparatus provided at the metal molding machine comprises a furnace body(31) of a melting and holding furnace(30), and a melting cylinder(34) for the material rod and a material supply cylinder(35) for directly supplying the material rod into the furnace body, the melting cylinder and the material supply cylinder being provided in parallel with each other on the furnace body, and the method comprises: melting the material rod using the melting cylinder before supplying molten material(M1) from the melting cylinder into the melting and holding furnace when molding is initiated; supplying the material rod from the material supply cylinder to a bottom portion of the furnace body to submerge and melt the material rod into the molten material in the melting and holding furnace; and maintaining the submersion melting in the melting and holding furnace after initiating molding.
