    • PURPOSE: A beta-ketoacyl acyl carrier protein synthase III(KAS III) inhibitor is provided to suppress fatty acid synthesis and to use as antibiotic. CONSTITUTION: A 5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy flavanone(eriodictyol) is denoted by chemical formula 1. A 5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy flavanone compound further contains a hydroxy group at 3 location. A composition for treatment or prevention of injectious diseases by microorganism comprises the compound of chemical formula 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salt. Microorganism is gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, or fungus. Microorganism is staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus pneumoniae, enterococcus faecalis, enterococcus faecium, bacillus subtilis or methicilin-resistant Streptococcus aureus.
