    • Provided is a pneumatic tire, which is enabled to ensure a braking performance, by suppressing the turn-up of the edge portion of a block thereby to exhibit the edge effect sufficiently. A block row composed of a plurality of center blocks (24) is arranged through a circumferential thin groove (18) on the outer side of a center rib (16) in the tire widthwise direction, and a block row composed of a plurality of shoulder blocks (32) is arranged through a circumferential shallow groove (28) on the outer side of a shoulder rib (26) in the tire widthwise direction. At a high input time or on a dry road, the edge portion on a lug groove side may be turned up by the friction with the road surface. The center blocks (24) are adjacent to the center rib (16), and the shoulder blocks (32) are adjacent to the shoulder rib (26). The center rib (16) acts to suppress the deformations of the center blocks (24), and the shoulder rib (26) suppresses the deformations of the shoulder blocks (32). As a result, the turn-up of the edge portion on the lug groove side of each block is suppressed so that a sufficient braking performance can be exhibited even at a high input time or on a dry road.
