    • PURPOSE: To provide a method for manufacturing a negative characteristic thermistor which can have lower resistance, prevents plating growth in electrolytic plating, and enables resistance value adjustment and B constant adjustment over wider ranges than before as a negative characteristic thermistor with an internal electrode. CONSTITUTION: The negative characteristic thermistor consists principally of transition metal oxide and has the internal electrode, and Cu, Cu oxide, or a Cu compound is incorporated in an internal electrode forming material. Preferably, Cu, Cu oxide, or a Cu compound is incorporated in the internal electrode forming material and an external electrode forming material. Then a temperature profile and in-furnace oxygen density in baking and cooling conditions are controlled to adjust the amount of Cu diffused nearby the internal electrode of a thermistor raw body.
