    • PURPOSE: A scroll type compressor is provided to improve the controllability and the responsibility of a backpressure control valve. CONSTITUTION: A scroll type compressor comprises a housing, a fixed scroll, a movable scroll, a suction chamber(42), a compression chamber, an ejection chamber(47), and a back pressure chamber(39). The fixed scroll and the movable scroll are pressurized each other by the back pressure within the back pressure chamber. A back pressure control valve(72) is formed between the ejection room or compression room and the back pressure chamber and/or between the back pressure chamber and the suction chamber. The back pressure control valve comprises a first valve room(74a) which is communicated with the ejection room or the compression room by a high pressure path, a second valve room(74b) which is communicated with the back pressure chamber by a back pressure path, a third valve room(74c) which is communicated with the suction chamber by a low pressure path, a first pressure receiving surface(S1) which is located within the first valve room, a second pressure receiving surface(S2) which is located within the second valve room, and a third pressure receiving surface(S3) which is located within the third valve room. The pressure receiving area of the third pressure receiving surface is larger than the pressure receiving area of the first pressure receiving surface and the pressure receiving area of the second pressure receiving surface.

    • A swash plate type compressor that has a pair of shoes (18A, 18B, 18C, 18D, 18E) between a swash plate (15) and a piston (17). The motion of the swash plate is transmitted to the piston through the shoes. Each piston reciprocates according to the transmitted motion. A coating (32, 33) is applied to each surface of the swash plate to contact the corresponding shoe. The surface (H) of each coating (32, 33) is flat. Each shoe (18A to 18E) includes a substantially flat surface (34), which contacts the swash plate (15), and a semi-spherical portion (35), which is fitted to the piston (17). Each substantially flat surface (34) includes a main chamfered portion (342) near the periphery. The inclination angle (&thetas; 1) of each main chamfered portion (342) with respect to the corresponding coating is a predetermined angle or less. Each coating contacts one of the substantially flat surfaces (34). The maximum distance ( beta ) between each main chamfered portion (342) and the corresponding coating is equal to or less than the thickness (D) of the corresponding coating (32, 33).
